Performance Max campaigns are a brand new and interesting campaign type in Google Ads about which we already wrote a bit. In this follow-up article, we would like to talk more about the transition from Smart Shopping campaigns to Performance max campaigns.
A lot of e-shops already have Smart Shopping campaigns with a long-standing history and a bunch of collected data. We all know that history and data are the foundation of campaigns and are responsible for the quality and the performance of the ads.
Noone would prefer the loss of information, so what choices do you have?
1. Keep your Smart Shopping campaigns running and waiting for the automatic change to Performance Max campaigns
If you already have Smart Shopping campaigns up and running and would like to transfer their data, history, smart bidding, and the like to Performance Max campaigns, we recommend that you wait for Google to automatically change them. Google will automatically change Smart Shopping campaigns to Performance Max campaigns during the summer of 2022 (July – September).
2. Creating new Performance Max campaigns
If you can’t or don’t want to wait for the automatic change, you can create new Performance Max campaigns in a matter of a few clicks directly in the BlueWinston. You can create the Performance Max campaigns for products that you do not yet advertise or you can replace existing Smart Shopping campaigns with the new Performance Max campaigns. We also wrote the instructions about How to create Performance Max campaigns through BlueWinston.
If you already have Smart Shopping campaigns that have a lot of data, we advise that you keep them up and running and wait for the automatic change to Performance Max campaigns. If you want to advertise other products or if you can’t wait for the change, you should create brand new Performance Max campaigns.
